INTRODUCTION

How the organizations work together

Cooperation

Each organization is responsible for a different aspect of cryopreservation. This ensures that our patients are safely stored and there’s enough money available for their ongoing preservation.

INTRODUCTION

Why this structure?

To provide the best cryopreservation service, both growth and stability are important. Growth is important because it will allow us to significantly decrease the cost of cryopreservation in the long run, invest in important cryopreservation research, and make the overall field more stable.

For the security of our cryopreserved patients, long-term care must be done with non-profit organizations that are specifically optimized for maximum stability and security. This is why cryopreservation maintenance is handled by the TPCF and EBF. The division of responsibilities between these three organizations allows our members to benefit from the effects of growth without any compromise in long-term stability.

European Biostasis Foundation board

The European Biostasis Foundation was created by individuals with high intrinsic motivation and years of involvement in the biostasis field. The foundation board is self-amending and will never receive compensation for their position on the board (as per Swiss regulations).

INTRODUCTION

Why Portugal?

We promise to keep our patients securely cryopreserved for however long it takes until revival becomes possible. This means our organization has to be set up for maximum long-term stability.

Portugal is politically and economically stable countries in the world, which makes it the perfect location for storing our patients. It is also high above sea level and not in a zone with earthquake risks, which reduces the danger of natural disasters.

Most importantly, Switzerland has some of the world’s strictest rules guarding foundations, making it virtually impossible for any nefarious actors to take them over or change their mission.
